Adapting Your Marketing For Hybrid Events

Let's Start A Conversation:

Hybrid events include both an in-person aspect and a digital component, and have served as a happy middle ground between traditional trade shows and online-only events. They allow your business to meet new prospects face-to-face at your booth on the show floor, while still conducting meetings and networking online with those who are attending from the comfort of their homes.

If you’re not already participating in hybrid events, chances are high that you’ll run into one before too long. So how do you prepare? Follow these tips to ensure success at your next hybrid show:

1. Connect with your audience at home

Your hybrid event has attendees seeing your company from the comfort of their homes. If you want to stand out and not simply be another name on a screen, get a list of the digital registrants from the show organizer and send them a small branded promotional item ahead of time. Top tip: sending them something they can use during the event itself, like a logoed mousepad or USB drive, can keep your company top-of-mind during the whole show.

2. Stay consistent

Your marketing materials – both online and in-person – should all be up to date with your current brand standards. If it’s been a few years since you’ve attended an in-person show, you may need to refresh your trade show display to align with the rest of your marketing. Inconsistent colors, logos and other marketing items can be confusing for your audience; your online and in-person guests should both be able to recognize your business in the same way after the show.

3. Be flexible

Your trade show materials will need to be flexible enough to work in both large and small spaces. Think about how you can use standing banners and tabletop displays for small footprints, as well as how you can use ceiling signs and step-and-repeat banners for much larger event spaces. At a hybrid event, you might also want to think about how you can incorporate a digital kiosk or laptop display to feature a way for your online and in-person guests and staff to interact with each other.
